It should be possible to use this method on most 2012 or newer Mac models. After installing the unsupported OS, there is a good chance that not everything will work as expected so the tool will also install patches to fix some issues or restore functionality if that’s needed.

Mainly related to drivers and hardware support that require workarounds. In most cases it doesn’t stop there as a lot of changes have been introduced in Ventura. It tricks that installer in thinking it is running on a newer, supported, model. OpenCore legacy patcher allows you to use an unmodified macOS installer. I did a post and video earlier, using the same method for unsupported hardware and Monterey. The method I will be using to get around this limitation involves OpenCore legacy patcher.

If you want to upgrade to, or install, Ventura on an older machine, the installer will tell you that your model is no longer supported or compatible with your device. In summary, the following Macs can run macOS Ventura officially: On Apple’s website you can see which models are officially supported: MacOS Ventura still has support for Intel-based Macs and obviously also for M1/M2 silicon-based machines.
So it looks like Apple is in a rush to drop support for Intel-based Macs since apple is moving everything to M1 and M2-based hardware. With Ventura, only a year later, this is more or less anything older than a 2017 model.

If you have not yet installed macOS Ventura 13.5 on your Mac, it may be best to wait until another update becomes available. Most likely, Apple will have to release a new version of macOS to fix this particular error. Unfortunately, there are no known workarounds for this issue, and Apple has not yet publicly acknowledged the bug. It’s not hard to imagine that the fix for this bug ended up affecting macOS Location Services settings. Apple provided more details about this specific exploit on its security webpage. As we previously reported, both iOS 16.6 and macOS Ventura 13.5 fixed a security exploit that allowed third-party apps to determine the user’s current location without permission. It’s hard to say what exactly is causing this bug, but we have a guess. And if you install a new app, it can’t access your current location. Even so, the bug is certainly concerning as there’s no way to remove permission from an app that currently has access to Location Services, for example. It’s unclear at this point whether the bug affects every Mac running macOS Ventura 13.5 or only a small number of users.
As a result, it’s no longer possible to edit location permissions for current apps or even authorize a new app to access the current location. macOS bug breaks Location Services settingsĪs noted by multiple users (via MacRumors), the macOS Ventura 13.5 update broke Location Services settings. Reportedly, some Mac users are unable to change Location Services settings after installing macOS Ventura 13.5. While the macOS update doesn’t add any major new features, it does come with multiple security patches, but it seems one of them resulted in an annoying bug. Apple released macOS Ventura 13.5 last month alongside iOS 16.6 and other updates.
